About the circuit

Las Vegas Strip Circuit at night

Information updated: 2026-10-2

The Las Vegas Strip Circuit runs through an area of city landmarks in Nevada, USA, combining long straights with slow corners. Cooler night-time temperatures make tyre warm-up and braking performance distinctive challenges. Racing speeds are high, but drivers must still manage heavy braking and traction out of corners between street barriers.

Circuit history

Las Vegas hosted the Caesars Palace Grand Prix in 1981 and 1982 on a different circuit. The current Strip circuit first hosted F1 in 2023; lap times and layout data from the two venues must not be combined. In 2025, Verstappen won, both McLarens were disqualified after the race, and the two Mercedes drivers were promoted to the podium.

Circuit characteristics

The long straights are highly sensitive to drag, but reducing downforce for top speed also makes preparing the tyres on the cold surface more difficult. Cars need stable braking into slow corners before using traction to accelerate out. Final positions must also take post-race technical checks into account: the order across the line is not always the final official classification.
