Kimi Antonelli topped second practice for round 20 of the 2026 Formula 1 season at Interlagos on November 6. The Mercedes driver set a 1:10.763, ahead of Lando Norris by 0.253 seconds and Max Verstappen by 0.259. George Russell finished fourth and Oscar Piastri fifth.
The fight behind Antonelli was especially close: Norris beat Verstappen by only 0.006 seconds, while second to fourth were covered by 0.020. Antonelli alone went below 1:11 and completed 37 laps, six more than Norris and fourteen more than Verstappen.
The leading times were established before teams focused on longer runs. With around 35 minutes remaining, Russell moved ahead with a 1:11.036, then Norris and Verstappen went quicker. Antonelli lowered the benchmark to 1:10.763 and retained the lead through the latter part of the session. Drivers reported drizzle during practice.

Ferrari finished sixth and seventh. Lewis Hamilton was 0.450 seconds behind the leader and Charles Leclerc 0.720 adrift. Formula 1’s official report recorded Leclerc reporting a brake issue and changing his line to avoid Rafael Camara on the main straight; Hamilton also locked up at Turn 1. Gabriel Bortoleto placed eighth, Isack Hadjar ninth and Oliver Bearman tenth.
Nico Hulkenberg did not take part in the session. Audi was still addressing the problems that had stopped Freddie Slater in FP1, leaving Hulkenberg without a time or any laps in FP2.
Franco Colapinto, Arvid Lindblad, Liam Lawson and Pierre Gasly occupied eleventh to fourteenth. Fernando Alonso was fifteenth, followed by home debutant Camara, who completed 30 laps in sixteenth. Carlos Sainz, Lance Stroll, Alex Albon and Cadillac pair Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas followed.
