Formula E confirmed Taylor Barnard joining Fortescue Zero Racing for 2026/27 on October 12. His destination for the first season using fourth-generation (GEN4) cars is settled, while the complete lineup remains pending.
Barnard debuted at nineteen as Sam Bird's late replacement in Monaco in 2024. He subsequently set youngest starter, podium finisher, pole winner and race winner records. After 2025/26, he left DS PENSKE for the Australian team entering under its new name.
Fortescue Zero already supplied FE technology before becoming a competitor. Originating from Williams Advanced Engineering, it is the official PIT BOOST fast-charging equipment supplier. The signing connects existing electric-racing technology with team personnel.
Barnard wants to help build the team from the beginning and turn ambition into results. He acknowledged substantial work ahead and looked forward to developing high-performance electric technology together.
