Team Profile
From independent champions to Yamaha partners
Pramac entered MotoGP in 2002, initially working with Honda before beginning a long partnership with Ducati in 2005. Years of development took it from a manufacturer partner to a direct title contender: it won the teams’ world championship in 2023, and Jorge Martín added the riders’ world championship in 2024.
Martín’s 2024 title was the first riders’ championship for an independent team in the modern MotoGP era and a major high point of Pramac’s Ducati years. In 2025 the team partnered with Yamaha, beginning a different technical path. The Prima Pramac Yamaha name now seen in broadcasts retains Pramac’s racing organisation, but the bikes are Yamaha machines.
Yamaha’s second factory-team programme
Yamaha positions Pramac as its second factory team, including it in a long-term development and racing programme. In 2026 it also runs the V4-powered Yamaha YZR-M1, working with the Yamaha factory team on the new platform. The relationship therefore goes beyond buying bikes and racing them independently.
For the team, 2026 requires both continuity in its working relationship with Yamaha and a fresh understanding of a new motorcycle. Retaining experienced riders and staff while bringing in a rider from a different background gives the manufacturer several perspectives on bike behaviour. Results should be considered in the context of the new platform’s development and the riders’ adaptation.
The 2026 line-up and established team
The race riders are number 43 Jack Miller and number 7 Toprak Razgatlıoğlu. Miller retains his Pramac Yamaha seat and brings years of premier-class experience with different manufacturers. Razgatlıoğlu begins his first MotoGP season as a three-time WorldSBK world champion.
Paolo Campinoti leads the team, with Gino Borsoi serving as team director. The official presentation explicitly identified Miller’s experience as an asset in racing and development, while making Razgatlıoğlu’s adaptation to the bike, tyres and championship a priority. Pramac therefore offers a window into a superbike champion’s transition to prototype racing.
What to watch
Razgatlıoğlu’s adaptation is the clearest storyline: how will he translate his braking strengths to MotoGP, and can he sustain his pace over a full race? Miller provides an experienced reference point. From a race-analysis perspective, comparing both riders with the Yamaha factory team at the same circuits helps distinguish individual learning from progress across the M1 project.
