Sichuan players gather courtside during the Women's Basketball League Asia semi-final on October 24, 2026

Sichuan Yuanda Meile beat South Korea's Cheongju KB Stars 93–74 in the 2026 Women's Basketball League Asia semi-finals in Bengaluru, India, on October 24. The 2024 inaugural champions returned to the final with 31 points from Carter, 22 from Gao Song and 21 points and 16 rebounds from Blicavs. Together, the trio supplied 74 of Sichuan's 93 points.

Carter scores 23 before halftime as Sichuan pull away again in the fourth

FIBA's post-game report showed that Sichuan gained an early advantage, but their opponents refused to give in easily. Carter scored 23 of her 31 points in the first half and also contributed five rebounds, five assists, one steal and two blocks, providing much of Sichuan's early offensive support.

KB Stars cut the deficit to eleven in the third quarter and remained in pursuit entering the fourth. Carter and Blicavs then helped Sichuan steady the game. With 7:54 remaining, Jia Saiqi hit a contested three-pointer to restore the lead to 80–59.

Blicavs' 16 rebounds and 21 points gave her a double-double. Gao Song added four rebounds to her 22 points, while Jia Saiqi scored nine. Gao said afterward that the opponents had challenged Sichuan at both ends, but a collective team effort had secured victory.

Another unbeaten team awaits in the final

Three Cheongju players scored at least 15 points, with the leading scorer recording 22, including eight in the fourth quarter. The Korean team's recovery forced Sichuan to respond again in the final period. The eventual 19-point margin does not fully reflect a contest that had earlier narrowed to eleven.

Sichuan beat Cathay Life and Akari in Group A to advance with two wins from two, then reached the final unbeaten in three games. In the other semi-final, Japan's Denso beat Cathay Life 86–78 to remain unbeaten too.

FIBA's final preview confirmed that Sichuan and Denso would play for the title on October 25 at 19:00 Indian time, or 21:30 China Standard Time (UTC+8). Sichuan won the inaugural event in 2024, while Dongguan New Century were the 2025 champions, so Sichuan are pursuing a second title in their history. Their head coach said the team would make every effort to win.

The victory combined Carter's prolific first half with sustained scoring from other key players: Gao Song and Blicavs totaled 43 points, more than Carter's individual 31. After the opponents closed the gap, Sichuan still scored through different players and restored a substantial advantage, a clear storyline beyond the final score.
