MotoGP confirmed on 22 September that the 2027 season will conclude in Valencia, Spain, over the weekend of 26–28 November at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo. The complete 2027 calendar is planned for publication on Friday, 25 September.
The 2027 finale confirmed after a five-year hosting agreement
Valencia already had a foundation for long-term hosting. On 25 March 2025, MotoGP announced a new contract covering five Grands Prix from 2027 through 2031. The circuit clarified the same day that it would host every year during that period without rotation. The new announcement specifically establishes the season-finale role and race weekend for 2027 within that agreement.
The other end of the season is also settled. On 31 July, MotoGP announced that the 2027 Thai Grand Prix would take place in Buriram on 5–7 March. Thailand will host the opener for the third consecutive year, also staging the first race of the 2027–2031 technical-regulation cycle. The first season of the new rules will therefore begin at the familiar Thai opening venue and finish in Valencia.
The finale’s appeal extends from the grandstands into the city
In the announcement, MotoGP deputy CEO Carlos Ezpeleta cited the atmosphere created by the Circuit Ricardo Tormo, the city and the fans as reasons it suited the finale. Its stadium-style layout allows spectators to see the racing at almost every corner from their seats, a viewing feature repeatedly highlighted by organisers.

That fan base had a concrete measure in 2025. On 17 November that year, MotoGP reported more than 200,000 spectators across the Valencia finale weekend, helping lift the season’s total attendance above 3.6 million. The round also marked the return of the local finale after flooding caused the cancellation of the 2024 event. The 2025 number represents attendance across the whole weekend.
While confirming the 2027 dates, organisers also outlined activities for the upcoming 2026 finale. MotoGP Fan Fest will bring rider appearances, entertainment and live music into Valencia, while Marina Sur will host a music event headlined by HUGEL. Those are this year’s event plans, illustrating how the finale weekend extends beyond the circuit.
INKA SPORTS analysis: long-term hosting and an annual finale slot are separate arrangements
The five-year contract and the new finale announcement give organisers two planning horizons. Continuity allows the circuit and city to plan across several years, while confirmation of the specific 2027 weekend gives that year’s spectator and supporting activities a shared date. Taken together with 2025’s weekend attendance and the 2026 plans extending into the city, Valencia’s finale appeal comes from both the race itself and fans’ experience of the whole weekend inside and outside the circuit.
Summary
The venues and weekends at both ends of 2027 are now confirmed: 5–7 March in Buriram, Thailand, to open and 26–28 November in Valencia to close. The full calendar on 25 September will connect those endpoints with the remaining rounds and show the complete schedule for the first year of the new technical rules.
