Márquez outscores Martín by six points to take a four-point championship lead

Álex Márquez finished fifth. Pedro Acosta received and served a Long Lap Penalty for exceeding track limits, taking an extra detour along the designated penalty route. He ultimately finished sixth as the highest-placed KTM rider. Fermín Aldeguer, Francesco Bagnaia and Fabio Quartararo took the remaining points in seventh, eighth and ninth respectively. Quartararo finished just 0.209 seconds behind Bagnaia. Álex Rins was tenth, outside the Sprint points positions.

Marc Márquez earned 12 points for the win, increasing his total from 331 to 343. Martín’s six points took him to 339. Martín’s two-point lead therefore became a four-point advantage for Márquez. Bezzecchi remained on 284 points, 59 behind the new leader, while Ogura moved to 246, just one point behind fourth-placed Acosta.

The Indonesian Grand Prix is scheduled to start at 15:00 Beijing time (UTC+8) on October 11. Sunday’s grid will still be determined by qualifying and any penalties applicable to that race. The Sprint results do not reset the starting order for the Grand Prix.
